PEABODY, Mass., Oct. 13, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Analogic Corporation (Nasdaq:ALOG), a leading provider of medical imaging and aviation security technology, announced today that the Company has shipped its 3,000th large-area, multi-slice data acquisition system (DAS), which it developed and manufactured for a major medical OEM customer. These systems are installed in medical facilities as subsystems of high-performance computed tomography (CT) scanners.
Analogic has been on the leading edge of CT technology for nearly 40 years, helping pioneer its expansion into areas such as cardiology and neurology. The Company’s products are in over half of the installed CT scanners worldwide. Analogic’s multi-slice DAS, coupled with its leading-edge wide area detector arrays, is capable of imaging the heart between beats in a single rotation of the CT gantry.
