Analogic has been manufacturing advanced image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) systems for a major medical OEM since 2005. This innovative multi-modality computed tomography (CT) system enables traditional CT imaging using a 16-slice data management system (DMS) coupled with linear accelerator (linac) technology for 360-degree radiation treatment. Using this technology, an oncologist can pinpoint the region of interest to administer radiation where it’s needed, while sparing the surrounding healthy tissue. In image modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), the radiation dose can be tailored to a tumor’s morphology using specially designed collimators.
Unlike some traditional linac radiation systems that have limited angles of treatment, Analogic’s CT gantry systems provide complete 360-degrees of exposure.

A long-time CT systems manufacturer, Analogic enables this advanced radiation therapy technology through complete system design and integration. We develop and supply the full CT gantry portion, which allows for inclusion of a standard linac to enable simultaneous imaging and radiation treatment. We manufacture and test the gantry with all its components in our Peabody, Mass., facility, and then ship the gantries to our customer for final integration and delivery to the end user.
