Analogic Corporation Wins Award from TSA to Develop
Next-Generation Checkpoint Screening System

PEABODY, MASS. (November 7, 2005) – John Wood, President and Chief Executive Officer of Analogic Corporation (NASDAQ: ALOG), announced today that the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, has awarded a contract to Analogic to develop a next-generation checkpoint screening system as part of its CAMBRIA project. The TSA program’s objective is to develop an advanced carry-on bag and parcel inspection system. The innovative Carry-On Baggage Real-time Assessment (COBRA™) checkpoint security system that Analogic has developed will be the Company’s platform for an automated threat detection system with improved 3-D imaging capability to inspect passengers’ carry-on baggage. The COBRA employs advanced Computed Tomography (CT) technology to provide automatic detection and 3-D images of all the objects in a bag or parcel. Analogic’s award represents the first stage of this significant program, which calls for a deliverable product within one year.

“Winning this award reaffirms Analogic’s position as a major player within the aviation industry in providing advanced technology to the Department of Homeland Security,” said Peter W. Harris, Analogic’s Vice President for Security Strategy. “It also puts Analogic squarely in position to address one of America’s biggest security challenges – the streamlining and enhancement of our nation’s aviation checkpoints.”

Frank G. Vorwald, General Manager and Vice President of Analogic’s Security Systems Division, noted, “We are delighted to be part of TSA’s advanced program for checkpoint security. Our proven experience in providing innovative solutions for checked-baggage Explosives Detection Systems (EDSs) will benefit our team of engineers as they take on this challenge.”

In addition to CAMBRIA, Analogic is currently working under three other TSA awards: Phoenix Category 1, for the upgrade of the installed base of EDSs; Phoenix Category 3, for the design, development, and manufacture of the next generation of EDSs; and Manhattan II, for the futuristic design of revolutionary detection systems.

Analogic Corporation is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced health and security systems and subsystems sold primarily to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The Company is recognized worldwide for advancing the state of the art in Computed Tomography (CT), Digital Radiography (DR), Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Patient Monitoring, and Embedded Multiprocessing.
