Julian Soshnick, Analogic Director and Long-term Corporate Officer, Succumbs at Age 71

PEABODY, MA (August 10, 2004) – John Tarello, Chairman of the Board of Analogic Corporation (NASDAQ: ALOG), announced today that Julian Soshnick (71), a director and former long-term officer at Analogic, passed away Sunday, August 8, at his home in Rockport, Mass. He is survived by his wife Martha, his children Jo Anne and Jeffrey, and his granddaughter Ella.

Born and raised in New York City, he graduated from Brandeis University and the Boston University School of Law. Following four years’ service as an officer in the U.S. Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps, he served as a prosecutor with the Massachusetts attorney general’s office. Subsequently, he continued in private practice as a notable trial lawyer.

In 1967 he was instrumental in the establishment of Analogic Corporation, now a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced medical and security imaging equipment. In 1981 he joined the Company full time as General Counsel. He was appointed Vice President in 1982 and Clerk in 1988. In over two decades of service, he negotiated most of Analogic’s major contracts with Fortune 500 companies around the world, traveling frequently to Germany, Holland, Denmark, Russia, Japan, and China on behalf of the Company’s interests.

In January 2001, Soshnick retired as an employee of Analogic and was elected to its Board of Directors. Later that year, at the board’s request, he resumed duties as Vice President and General Counsel. He retired as General Counsel in October 2003, continuing to serve as Vice President until February of this year.
