Analogic Corporation Announces Market Clearance Received for
GR17 Digital Detector Plate Developed by Anrad
PEABODY, MA (November 1, 2004) Analogic Corporation (NASDAQ: ALOG), announced today that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has granted 510(k) clearance for the GR17 Flat Panel Detector (FPD) developed by Analogics subsidiary Anrad, the world leader in flat-panel X-ray detectors based on amorphous Selenium technologies.
The GR17, designed for use in all general radiography applications, is the fifth in a series of high-resolution, wide-dynamic-range, direct-conversion, digital FPDs produced by Anrad. Its large 17-inch square active area provides for optimum exposure coverage and simplifies positioning the detector around the patient.
John Wood, President & CEO of Analogic, said, The GR17 represents another step forward in Analogics commitment to digital radiography, which is embodied in five years of investment and development in Anrad, and the recent formation of ANEXA Corporation, a subsidiary established to provide next-generation digital imaging solutions to select end-user markets.
According to Sorin Marcovici, President of Anrad Corporation, The GR17 is a notable addition to our line of FPDs, which is already recognized as one of the most advanced in the industry. It combines Anrads proprietary, very low-noise electronics with the latest amorphous Selenium technologies to produce clinical images of superior quality, even at a low dose of radiation.
Analogic Corporation is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced health and security systems and subsystems sold primarily to Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The Company is recognized worldwide for advancing the state of the art in Computed Tomography (CT), Digital Radiography (DR), Ultrasound, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Patient Monitoring, Cardiovascular Information Management, and Embedded Multiprocessing.
