POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for using technical, 6-sigma and lean manufacturing tools to complete a variety of plant wide continuous improvement projects including manufacturing re-layout.
DUTIES:
- Makes thorough studies of existing conditions and analyzes needed changes to reduce waste, improve quality, safety and reduce operating expenses.
- Provides project management expertise on capital improvement projects, including floor layouts that are acceptable to production, providing project definition, capital and expense estimates and project schedules, ensures project(s) are completed on schedule and within budget.
- Uses and understands Statistical based software and Quality tools (i.e., Process Mapping) for warranting process changes or improvements, has the ability to carry out engineering calculations and analysis, performs validations as required.
- Efficient use of CAD software for various plant manufacturing engineering applications.
- Provides monthly and quarterly project status reports.
- Works with divisions and subsidiaries to support new product introduction into product lines and possesses the ability to lead small groups of associates on individual or collective projects.
- QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering and at least ten years related experience is required and 6-sigma black belt certification.
