Participates in a variety of product related reliability activities
Represents Product Compliance & Assurance (PC&A) on product development teams
DUTIES:
Determines and implements the methodologies for analyzing and testing new and existing product reliability to ensure conformity with design specifications and product requirements, i.e., MIL-HDBK-217 methods using Relex software, HALT methods, RGT, Weibull Analysis, thermal analysis.
Specifies and implements the methodologies for calculating the theoretical Mean-Time-Between-Failure (MTBF) for new product designs and monitoring production and post market data for MTBF trends. Designs statistical experiments for Life Data Analysis including Weibull, and other probability of failure distribution patterns.
Leads Design for Reliability, reviewing circuit design and analyzing components to determine areas of improvement for reliability and maintainability. Provides feedback to design engineering and/or other affected departments on product problems disclosed during testing, including probable cause and recommended or required actions to be taken. Performs or supervises regulatory body requirements testing such as: UL, ETL, etc. upon request.
Ensures reliability activities and deliverables comply with pertinent standards and regulatory requirements. Schedules laboratory tests and evaluations and executes them on a timely basis in response to department/business unit needs. Performs and/or contracts for reliability, environmental, specification compliance tests and evaluations at the system, product and component level.
Represents PC&A function in Product Development and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes. Performs other Reliability and Product Compliance & Assurance duties as appropriate.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
BSEE degree or equivalent and eight to ten years of reliability related experience, Medical device or similarly regulated industry experience desired.
